Asymmetric Wrap Bracelet

Here is a bracelet that I made as a custom order. I just finished it today. It is made from 7-8 oz vegetable tanned leather and the closure on the bracelet is two Segma snaps. The leather was finished with a new formula of Eco-Flo Professional Waterstain in Dark Brown and given a topcoat of Fiebing's Tan-Kote.

Passport Holder Wallet

Here is a passport wallet that I made before a recent trip I took. Unfortunately I did not go somewhere that necessitated a passport, but I did need room to keep cash and receipts. The wallet is made of 3-4 oz vegetable tanned leather and was hand stitched with waxed nylon thread. The leather was finished with a light coating of neatsfoot oil.

New Leather Bracelets

Here is a style of bracelet that I may add to my Etsy store here soon. I have done these in 5/8" wide vegetable tanned leather and have left the leather untreated. The edges are beveled and burnished smooth. The closure on this bracelet is a Sam Browne stud, however I make them also with a small snap closure as well.  Over time this bracelet will age to a golden brown from natural skin oils and the sun.

Round Knife Sheath

Here is a sheath that I made for the new C.S. Osborne round knife that I just bought recently. I used some scraps of veg, tanned belly and left it unfinished, but will probably give it a couple of coats of neatsfoot oil if anything.

Card Holder Case

I just finished up this card holder case/wallet this weekend. The design is based on an Al Stohlman design that is featured in his Lucky 7 book. This card case was finished with Fiebing's Antique paste in Sheridan Brown and Fiebing's Tan-Kote.

Bottle Opener

I have been making more of these for my Etsy store. Currently, I am doing them on a made to order basis, but will be stocking some up soon as I get more time. These, like the others are O1 precision ground bar stock that is 1/8" x 3/4" x 3".

Mocotaugan Knife (crooked knife)

I made this crooked knife or mocotaugan from a Nicholson mill bastard file. The handle is from a lilac tree branch I removed from our yard a couple of years ago. This knife was based on a design that Orien McDonald makes and was displayed in this tutorial on PaleoPlanet. Orien also sells his knives on Etsy, which you can see here. You can read more about these style of blades here.  I think that I may make another one that has a shorter blade that is more curved throughout its length. It seems that this one works well enough for my first attempt however. Another neat tutorial from Cariboo Blades can be found here.

Pry Bar Bottle Opener

I just finished this pry bar bottle opener as a custom order on my Etsy store. The customer wanted it an inch longer than the other bottle openers that I have made. The extra length (4" overall)  makes it very comfortable to open beers. Another nice feature of this tool is that it gets the cap off with only one pry.

Leather Water Bottle

Here is a bottle that I just finished that was based on a pattern and tutorial by Eric Methven which is hosted on Bushcraft USA and you can see here. The leather used was ~ 3 mm thick and the bottle is dipped in beeswax  to seal it on the inside and out. This size bottle holds about 12 oz.

More Mitsuro

Here is another ring that I finished from the first batch of rings that I cast from the rings that were modeled using mitsuro wax. This ring was given a burnished finished after repeated trips to the pickle, which gives it a bright coating of fine silver. Other jewelry that I make can be seen on my other blog Brian Coffey / Metalsmith.

Roller Printed and Riveted Ring

I thought I would post a couple of pics of a ring I just finished up. You can read more about it on my other blog: Brian Coffey/Metalsmith, where I have my jewelry work. I have been working quite a bit on different projects and am also in the process of building up stock at my new Etsy store.

Cuttlebone Cast Sterling Silver Ring

Here is a ring that I recently posted for sale on my new Etsy store. I made the top portion of this ring by making a mold in a piece of cuttlefish bone and then formed the metal before soldering it onto the ring shank that I fabricated. I like the look of the concave top in comparison to the flat topped rings like this that I have made in the past.

Sterling Silver Cup Bracelet

I have been getting some stock together to have on my etsy store and realized that I had this bracelet hidden away in my shop. I thought I would post a picture here because sometimes people that come to this page don't realize I have another blog for my jewelry at Brian Coffey / Metalsmith.

This bracelet is approximately 7 1/2" long and is made from 3/4" sterling silver discs that were formed and have each been accented with 2 grains of sterling silver. The catch is also handmade by myself. This bracelet has a burnished finish for easy care.
